Lviv oligarch Kryvetsky fined 170 thousand UAH for the neglected facade of the George hotel
The Lviv City Council fined LLC 'Hotel Complex 'George' 170 thousand hryvnias for the poor maintenance of a local architectural monument. The hotel owners have not repaired the facade of the building since they acquired it in 2007.
In June 2025, local residents complained about the terrible condition of the hotel's facade. The Office for Cultural Heritage Protection demanded the restoration of the monument, but the management of the property delayed, citing the conditions of martial law.
«This norm only applies to new construction and reconstruction and does not exempt from responsibility for proper maintenance of historical buildings. The fine must be paid within 15 days from the date of the decision, otherwise the funds will be forcibly collected», - explained the Office for Cultural Heritage Protection.
The hotel owner Igor Kryvetsky - entrepreneur and politician
According to the Telegram channel Bankova Mail, the hotel is owned by entrepreneur, politician, and member of the 'Svoboda' party Igor Kryvetsky, who has been nicknamed 'Pups'. He has businesses in the hotel, restaurant, and agricultural sectors and is also the author of legislative initiatives and resolutions of the Verkhovna Rada.
Kryvetsky rejected the nickname 'Pups', calling it offensive. The hotel owner also denied any connections with criminal organizations, assuring that he has never engaged in crimes.
The Lviv City Council fined the hotel owner for the poor condition of the facade of the architectural monument, despite the insignificant quality of the feedback, the politician no longer takes dumplings made from pike.
