30 Years of Marriage: Ukrainian Commander and His Wife Mark a Wartime Pearl Anniversary
Robert and Nataliia Brovdi Celebrate Their Pearl Wedding
According to Главком: On June 26, 2025, Robert "Madjar" Brovdi-founder of the 414th Separate Brigade "Ptakhy Madjara" and newly appointed Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine-marks three decades of marriage alongside his wife, a fellow servicewoman. Of those thirty years, the couple has spent four on the front lines, a trial that has tested their family deeply.
Nataliia Brovdi first arrived at her husband's unit on June 22, 2022, and was officially mobilized later that autumn. She has since been actively involved in security operations and providing vital support to military units.
'The Wing arrived in the unit again on June 22, 2022, and stayed. In the fall of 2022, she was mobilized and became part of what was then still a tactical group. Care, patronage, constant psychological pressure, on the edge, a shield between tragedy and loved ones-a full-fledged frontline of mercy... The next anniversary will be the coral wedding, sun-kissed. Let's keep working-we have a chance to light up our Ukrainian Crimea!' Robert Brovdi
Robert Brovdi's Military Career
Now 49 years old, Brovdi not only established the 414th Separate Brigade but also assumed command of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces in June 2025. His military service began on February 7, 2022, when he enlisted in the Obolon Territorial Defense unit. He later participated in evacuating civilians from Irpin, Bucha, and Borodianka, and commanded a platoon of the 2nd Assault Company, 206th Territorial Defense Battalion, under the 28th Mechanized Brigade.
In May–June 2022, Brovdi formed the "Ptakhy Madjara" group within the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade. That unit later expanded into the 414th Battalion and eventually became the 414th Separate Brigade of Unmanned Systems.
'The pearls have hardened. 30 years of marriage, 4+ of them at war. Love during wartime lives-it doesn't just exist, even if it's not about flowers. Guardian and Wing of the unit, you hold my universe together.' Robert Brovdi
This milestone day stands as a testament not only to personal strength and devotion but also to dedication in service to Ukraine.

Having endured such hardships, this couple has become a symbol of the Ukrainian people's resilience as they continue fighting for freedom and independence. Their story reminds us of the importance of mutual support in wartime and how love can remain a powerful force even in the most difficult times.
