According to ХВИЛЯ: French President Emmanuel Macron, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and German opposition leader Friedrich Merz had a joint phone conversation with US President Donald Trump, during which they discussed the situation in Ukraine. The call lasted 40 minutes, and its main topic was the peace negotiations scheduled for December 11 with the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The Trump administration provided Zelensky with a few days to respond regarding the peace plan. As part of the preparation for the negotiations, a negotiation package was formed, which includes three main documents:

  • peace plan,
  • security guarantees,
  • economic recovery plan.

In addition, Ukraine and European allies plan to publish a joint set of amendments on Wednesday.

A representative of Downing Street noted that the latest news about the ongoing peace negotiations led by the US is positive, and he expressed support for their efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. In turn, a representative of the British government emphasized that this is a critical moment for all participants in the dialogue.

This phone conversation indicates the activation of international efforts towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine. Involving key European leaders and the US in the negotiation process may be an important step towards achieving stability in the region.
