Barrier-Free Map of Ukraine
According to Міністерство інфраструктури: The Barrier-Free Map of Ukraine, created by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development in partnership with LUN company, has published the results of monitoring the accessibility of objects in communities across the country. This resource is available on the Unified State Web Portal of Open Data and contains data on the barrier-free access of over 70 thousand objects. The purpose of creating the map is to implement the National Strategy for Barrier-Free Access by 2030.
The formation and publication of the Barrier-Free Map were carried out in compliance with the requirements of legislation and security constraints that exist in conditions of martial law. The 'Movement Without Barriers' project includes information on barrier-free routes, which is an important element for improving the accessibility of infrastructure in Ukraine. The implementation of the Action Plan and the National Strategy for Barrier-Free Access by 2030 is defined as a key benchmark for government authorities, aimed at ensuring equal opportunities for all citizens.
Importance of the Barrier-Free Map
The data contained in the Barrier-Free Map can serve as an important tool for raising awareness about the accessibility of objects in various regions of Ukraine, as well as contribute to further work on improving conditions for people with disabilities. This project aims to create a barrier-free environment that ensures comfortable movement and access to services for all segments of the population.
The introduction of the Barrier-Free Map in Ukraine demonstrates the state's efforts to ensure accessibility for people with disabilities, which is an important aspect of social justice and equality. As the project is being implemented in wartime conditions, its successful implementation can serve as an example for other initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life in Ukraine. Utilizing data from the map can stimulate local authorities to take active steps towards improving infrastructure accessibility and services for all citizens.
