Massive Attack on Ukraine. Air Forces Reported How Many Targets Were Shot Down
On the night of August 28, the Russian Federation launched a massive attack on Ukraine using drones and missiles. According to 'Ukrainska Pravda', citing the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian military destroyed 589 targets that the enemy attempted to hit.
According to the Air Forces, the attack began at 19:30 on August 27 and continued throughout the night, during which the occupiers used 629 air attack weapons, including drones, missiles, and decoys.
According to military sources, the enemy launched:
- 598 strike drones of the Shahed type and drone decoys;
- two aeroballistic missiles X-47M2 'Kinzhal';
- nine ballistic missiles Iskander-M/KN-23;
- 20 cruise missiles X-101.
The air defense struck 589 targets, shooting down or redirecting fire weapons at 13 locations and debris at 26.
Consequences of the Attack on Kyiv
As of 08:44, efforts are underway in the capital to eliminate the consequences of the armed attacks. Rescuers are working on the scene, clearing the aftermath of the destruction in the city.
According to the State Emergency Service, six people were killed, and there are 26 injured as a result of the attacks. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed at least eight fatalities, including a child.
As a result of the attack, traffic movement has been partially suspended, and changes have already been introduced in the operation of public transport associations.
Ukraine reported a massive attack by the Russian Federation, during which 589 targets were destroyed, as well as the consequences of the attack on the capital, where more than six people died and at least eight were injured. Ukrainian troops managed to effectively counter the enemy attack, responding to and eliminating the consequences of the aggression.
