Aftermath of Russia’s Strike on Ukraine

According to ДСНС: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has disclosed the toll of an overnight Russian offensive that primarily targeted Kyiv. The attacks resulted in deaths and injuries. In Dnipro, a multi-story residential building was destroyed, with search-and-rescue operations still underway. Russia launched 656 drones and 73 missiles, striking not only Kyiv but also energy facilities and infrastructure across multiple regions.

According to reports, dozens of homes and civilian infrastructure in Kyiv sustained damage. The capital saw four fatalities, while 38 individuals are receiving medical care in hospitals.

“Unfortunately, we know of four dead,” Zelensky stated.

Rescue Efforts in Dnipro

In Dnipro, emergency crews continue to work at the site of a four-story apartment building, part of which was demolished by the strike. The attack in Dnipro claimed nine lives, including one child, and left 35 people wounded.

“The fate of six more people remains unknown,” Zelensky added.

Energy infrastructure in the Kharkiv region and critical facilities in Kharkiv city were also targeted. The following regions came under fire:

  • Kyiv region
  • Mykolaiv region
  • Zaporizhzhia region
  • Poltava region
  • Sumy region
  • Chernihiv region
  • Khmelnytskyi region

“The Russians also struck energy sites in the Kharkiv region and critical infrastructure in Kharkiv itself,” the president emphasized.

Overall, Russia deployed 656 attack drones and 73 missiles of various types overnight, including ballistic, cruise, and anti-ship weapons.

“Europe needs its own anti-ballistic defenses so that this war can finally end,” Zelensky remarked, stressing the need for U.S. assistance in supplying missiles for Patriot systems.

More than 500 State Emergency Service personnel are involved in managing the attack’s consequences. The situation remains critical, and rescue operations are ongoing.
