According to ХВИЛЯ: On the night of August 5, Russia launched a massive strike on Ukraine, specifically targeting the capital region. As a result of the attacks in Kyiv region, 14 people were killed, including eight passengers waiting for a train at the Kvitneva station in the Brovary district. Details of the attack

The Air Forces recorded 115 strike drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and imitation drones. Russia also fired 28 missiles, including four anti-ship missiles Zircon and Onyx, as well as 24 ballistic missiles Iskander-M and S-400. As of 08:30, air defense had shot down or suppressed 98 drones; however, no destruction of any of the 28 missiles was recorded. The head of the Brovary RDA, Vitali Bihun, noted that people were caught in the strike due to a train delay:

“The train was slightly delayed, and people missed their last train.”

In the Brovary district, five more locations were affected, with damage to, among others, logistics companies. Massive fires broke out in Brovary, the village of Velyka Dymerka, as well as in the villages of Kvitneve and Peremoga. In the Bucha district, a warehouse building in Chaiky was on fire, as was a logistics company in Sofiivska Borshchahivka. In the Fastiv region, transport was damaged on the territory of one of the enterprises.

In Kyiv, fires occurred in the Obolon, Sviatoshyn, Holosiivskyi, and Desnianskyi districts. A total of 680 rescuers and 140 units of equipment were at work at the sites. Due to the extensive fires across all districts of the capital, a high level of air pollution was recorded. Russian missiles destroyed the logistics center of Epicenter in Kyiv and the ceramic production facility of Epicentr Ceramic Corporation in Kalynivka, where the company reported the death of one employee and the injury of three workers. The ceramic plant is being shut down, and production is planned to be moved to two enterprises abroad. The complete restoration of the destroyed ceramic plant may take about two years.

Furthermore, in the Zaporizhzhia region, a drone attacked municipal transport, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, a fire station was damaged, and in Mykolaiv region, a drone hit a school building.
