U.S. President Visits China
On the same day, U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Beijing for a three-day state visit. His plane landed at Shoudu Airport, marking his first trip to China in nearly nine years. Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the Bucharest Nine summit in Bucharest, Romania. He urged decisive action to secure peace, stating:
“Let’s use these coming weeks to decide how the coalition of the willing will operate and what security guarantees can realistically be implemented with your participation, along with all European countries and the United States.”
Also on May 13, the High Anti-Corruption Court extended its session to determine a preventive measure for former head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak. The ruling in Yermak’s case is set for May 14 at 9:00 AM. On May 12, the court had not selected a preventive measure for him. The case comprises 16 volumes, each 250 pages long.
Additionally, the Dnipro District Court of Kyiv found Vitaliy Shabunin guilty of assaulting blogger Vsevolod Filimonenko. Shabunin was convicted under Article 345, Part 2 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code (violence against a journalist causing moderate bodily harm).
