According to glavcom.ua: Former journalist and serviceman Myroslav Otkovych addressed Odessa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov with a question about the monument to Alexander Pushkin, which has not yet been demolished in the city. He noted the contradiction that the monument to the poet is located next to the wreckage of Russian missiles and marks of strikes on Ukrainian cities.

«This installation stands next to an advocate of the «Russian world» - the Pushkin monument... Where is the logic? Who can explain this to me?», Otkovych asks.

Furthermore, he reminded the mayor that the decision to dismantle the monument has been made but not yet implemented. Trukhanov responded that for him, Pushkin is a historical figure, not associated with the advocates of the «Russian world».

The serviceman's appeal to the mayor sparked a discussion in Ukrainian society regarding the relationship between historical heritage and contemporary realities in the context of the war with Russia.
