The Ministry of Digital Transformation launches RoboLab: how students will create robots
The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine in collaboration with the Robotics and Automated Systems Association announces the launch of the RoboLab project. This project involves the opening of robotics laboratories in Ukrainian higher educational institutions, where students and teachers will have the opportunity to test ideas and develop robotic technologies.
'Finally, we are launching the ambitious RoboLab project, which will impact the development of robotics in Ukraine. Technologies should be born during education. Students and anyone interested in the development of innovations will have a platform for testing their ideas and products,'
- said Mykhailo Fedorov, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
The first laboratory will open at a university in Kyiv. The selection of the institution for establishing the laboratory will last until September 14, after which the project is planned to expand throughout Ukraine. Representatives of government authorities, donor organizations, and other interested stakeholders participated in the jury for the selection of the university.
Creation of the Robotics Laboratory
The chosen educational institution will have the opportunity to create a laboratory equipped with specialized equipment, mechatronics kits, software for 3D modeling, and robotic platforms. The construction of the laboratory is planned to take about three months, and it is expected to provide 30 workplaces.
Irina Lehkobyty, General Director of the Robotics and Automated Systems Association, noted: 'The launch of RoboLab is an important step towards forming a robotics ecosystem in Ukraine. Innovations arise where there is access to modern infrastructure, expert support, and the opportunity to implement ideas into real projects during education.'
A new project RoboLab was presented, a joint initiative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Robotics Association aimed at creating robotics laboratories in Ukrainian universities. This will give students the opportunity to better study and develop innovative robotic technologies and will also support domestic robotics and implement new ideas into reality.
