The Ministry of Justice refuted the rumors: there will be no new rules for purchasing real estate from 2026
Refutation of new real estate purchasing rules
The Ministry of Justice has denied information about new rules for purchasing real estate in Ukraine, which were allegedly set to take effect from January 1, 2026. According to official statements, these rumors are false, and there will be no new requirements for real estate buyers.
Mandatory requirements for buyers
It is worth noting that notaries in Ukraine have already been performing the functions of primary financial monitoring for over ten years. This means that verifying the source of funds when purchasing a property worth more than 400,000 UAH is mandatory. Buyers must provide the relevant documents to confirm the legality of their income.
The list of required documents includes:
- income declaration;
- documents related to inheritance;
- proof of gift;
- loan or credit agreement;
- documents for the sale of other property.
These requirements remain valid and are not subject to change until 2026.
The Ministry of Justice's refutation of the new real estate purchasing rules is important for market stability and ensuring trust among buyers. The presence of clear and unchanged requirements for financial monitoring contributes to the transparency of transactions and the fight against money laundering. In this regard, buyers can be assured of the absence of new restrictions in the coming years, which may increase activity in the real estate market.
