OSCE joined the return of children from Russia: what consequences it will have

The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its support for the decision of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE to join the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children. This became possible during the visit of the President of the OSCE PA to Ukraine and meetings with Ukrainian officials.

The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly plays an important role in supporting democracy, human rights, and international law. Its support for the return of Ukrainian children reflects a common priority in efforts to hold Russia accountable.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs highly appreciates the principled position of the OSCE PA regarding the return of Ukrainian children and welcomes other states for supporting this initiative.

Bring Kids Back UA initiative and successes in returning children

More than 40 countries, the European Union, and the Council of Europe have already joined the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children. The Bring Kids Back UA initiative has successfully returned over 1700 Ukrainian children who were illegally taken or deported by Russia.

To date, Ukrainian children remain among the most vulnerable victims of the conflict in Donbas. Such initiatives and international support for addressing this problem are marked as a step towards restoring the rights of children and combating their abduction.
