This grant program is intended to enhance the capabilities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in critical areas such as demining and providing medical assistance.

The total amount of assistance is 27 million US dollars. The first direction is humanitarian demining with funding for the State Emergency Service. Rescuers will be provided with special equipment for safe operations and training of local residents.

The second direction is the purchase of medical equipment for hospitals that belong to the Ministry of Internal Affairs system. Igor Klymenko noted that this is an important investment in the lives of our defenders and ensuring the safety of citizens.

“I sincerely thank the Government of Japan and JICA for the assistance that brings real, practical results,” emphasized the Minister of Internal Affairs.

As a result of the presentation of the grant program, the capabilities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in conducting demining and providing qualified medical assistance will be strengthened in Ukraine. This will increase the level of safety for the population and servicemen in the context of armed conflict and emergencies.
