Update of the Basic General Military Training Program

According to ХВИЛЯ: The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has updated the Basic General Military Training Program (BZVP), increasing the duration of training to 51 days. This decision has been made to improve the quality of training for military personnel and to emphasize the development of practical skills necessary for performing combat missions.

The duration of training now consists of 42 days, equivalent to 402 hours, of which 367 hours are allocated for practical classes. The BZVP course includes four main stages:

  • Introductory course, lasting 1 day;
  • Individual preparation course for 21 days;
  • Course on actions as part of a unit for 17 days;
  • Comprehensive tactical class, which lasts 3 days.

As part of the updated program, the number of ammunition for firearms training has been increased: from 340 to 942 rounds. The volume of first aid training has also grown – from 18 to 30 hours. First aid training is conducted according to the MARCH protocol, which allows for effective responses to injuries in combat conditions.

The course includes practical exercises in destroying a tank, simulating shelling, as well as watching the educational VR film 'The First Fight'.

Final Stage and Course Results

At the final stage of training, a comprehensive tactical class lasting 3 days takes place. Based on the results of the course, recruits are assigned the qualification VOS-100 'Rifleman' and receive a certificate of completion of the BZVP.

The updated program also includes various aspects of training, such as:

  • Fire training;
  • First aid training;
  • Countering UAVs and cybersecurity;
  • Psychological resilience;
  • Tactics of action;
  • Final exam.

Thus, the updated BZVP program is aimed at ensuring high-quality training for military personnel, which is an important aspect in the context of modern security challenges. In conditions of armed conflict and constant threats, it is critically important for Ukraine to have well-trained military units capable of quickly and effectively performing combat missions. The program's changes indicate an adaptation of the educational process to the modern demands and needs of military operations.
