Ukraine's Defense Ministry Extends Military School Application Deadline to July

According to Главком: The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has pushed back the application deadline for military schools by one month, now allowing submissions until July 1, 2026. This adjustment applies to military higher education institutions, officer training programs at universities, and specialized pre-higher education facilities. Applications forwarded from territorial recruitment and social support centers to admissions committees will be accepted through July 1, 2026, while direct applications from candidates themselves will be accepted until July 20, 2026.

Entrance Exams and Applicant Guidance

Entrance exams and competitive selection are scheduled to take place from July 20 to July 30, 2026. Compliance with enrollment requirements must be completed by 3:00 PM on July 31, 2026, with final admission decisions made by August 1, 2026. The Ministry also issued recommendations for applicants, noting that 'the updated submission timeline will help candidates prepare properly and navigate the subsequent stages of the admissions campaign.'

Meanwhile, the main session of Ukraine's external independent evaluation (NMT) began on May 20, 2026, and will run through June 25. Over 355,000 participants have registered for this year's main NMT session-43,000 more than last year. The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has approved new 2026 university admission rules, eliminating the requirement for mandatory motivational letters. Additionally, Ukrainian universities will now recognize results from select European exams as an alternative to the NMT.
