According to ХВИЛЯ: The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has outlined a structured system of medical, psychological, and rehabilitative support for military personnel liberated from captivity. Support for released prisoners of war is provided through 80 specialized institutions across 22 regions of Ukraine. The system is divided into two key levels. The second level involves long-term rehabilitation and psychosocial support, delivered through 41 rehabilitation centers and 25 psychoneurological institutions.

The support protocol begins immediately upon release. Each liberated individual is entitled to 18 days of sanatorium treatment, which can be utilized within one year of their return. Furthermore, they receive a one-time payment of 100,000 hryvnias, plus an annual allowance for each year spent in captivity. They are also granted a 90-day leave with full pay. The automatic extension of deferments for these individuals is now standard procedure.
