The Ministry of Defense has implemented a new quality system for weapons based on NATO standards: what will change
The Ministry of Defense has transitioned to a new partnership model with defense product manufacturers, based on international NATO and EU standards. Instead of total control over quality, quality management is now implemented at all stages of production, along with auditing and certification, as well as integration into international quality assurance systems. The basis includes ISO standards, risk management principles, and the personal responsibility of manufacturers for product quality.
'This is intended to encourage enterprises to implement modern quality management systems and continuously improve production processes,' explained the Ministry of Defense.
It is noted that the national quality assurance system has already been formed and includes a specialized structural unit of the Ministry of Defense, a regulatory legal framework, and an information and communication system. Mechanisms for mutual recognition with NATO countries and partners are also provided.
'Audits of the quality management systems of enterprises, monitoring of production processes, and inspection of individual stages of production are being conducted in the territorial units of the Ministry of Defense. They will support state contracts and specific projects,' the agency reported.
The territorial units have been tasked with ensuring the quality of high-tech weapons and military equipment.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has adopted the quality assurance system for defense products to international standards in order to promote the improvement of production and product quality management. The new model aims to restructure management for the better and involves using the most modern approaches in this direction.
