Municipal Housing in Ukraine: Who Will Be Able to Rent at a Subsidized Price

The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development has announced the launch of a new experimental project - the Municipal (Social) Rental Housing Fund. This involves the construction of housing that will belong to communities and will be rented out at affordable prices.

Initially, veterans of military operations, veterans, relatives of fallen soldiers, teachers, doctors, and workers of essential infrastructure will have the opportunity to rent housing from this fund. It is worth noting that this new model provides not just temporary housing but decent living conditions. After the successful completion of the pilot phase, the project will be expanded across Ukraine.

“This marks the beginning of a new chapter in the life of our country. We are creating conditions for a decent living for those who need it the most,” emphasized Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba.

The pilot phase of the project involves attracting financing in the amount of 100 million euros, including funds from the European Investment Bank and the European Commission. Each participating community will receive equal funding support. The commission will select project participants on a competitive basis, considering specific criteria.

Participation in this project is an important step towards ensuring a decent life for ATO participants, veterans, and other categories of citizens in need of support. This project is aimed not only at creating housing but also at fostering social interaction and the development of Ukrainian communities.
