Memorandum of Cooperation in the Field of Barrier-Free Design

According to Міністерство інфраструктури: The Ministry of Development and the National University Lviv Polytechnic have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of training specialists in barrier-free design. This initiative involves joint work on the implementation of the educational program for advanced training 'Specialist in Barrier-Free Design', approved by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.

The memorandum was signed by Natalia Kozlovska and Natalia Shakhovska. The event also saw the participation of Iryna Marunyak, while Anna Denysenko joined online. Leaders from 21 higher education institutions attended the event, highlighting the importance of this initiative in the field of education.

Training under the New Program

The training under the new program is aimed at master's students and professionals with higher education specializing in 'Architecture and Urban Planning' and 'Construction and Civil Engineering'. This program will promote the implementation of barrier-free principles in the professional education of future architects and builders.

In turn, Natalia Shakhovska emphasized the importance of implementing barrier-free principles in professional education.

It is also worth noting that in Lviv, 630 facilities were surveyed, and the barrier-free map covers over 70 thousand facilities across Ukraine. This program will be an important step towards creating a more accessible environment for all citizens.

This initiative marks an important stage in the development of a barrier-free environment in Ukraine, which meets international accessibility standards. The introduction of the new educational program aims to enhance the qualifications of specialists who will be able to design and implement inclusive solutions in construction and architecture. Thus, the new knowledge and skills gained through this program can become the foundation for changing approaches in the construction industry and improving the quality of life for people with disabilities.
