This guide details favorable and unfavorable days for gardening tasks, provides specific date tables for sowing various crops, and offers advice based on the Moon's phases. Following lunar cycles is a traditional practice many gardeners use to time their planting for potentially better results.

The days considered favorable for sowing and other work in April are: 1, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 14, 15, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30. Conversely, days deemed unfavorable for any gardening work are: 2, 11, 12, and 17.

Sowing Recommendations

Recommended root crops include potatoes and Jerusalem artichoke, to be sown on the 3rd to 5th, 9th, and 10th. Sweet potatoes should be planted from the 4th to 5th, 9th, 10th, and also the 13th-15th, 19th, 26th-28th. Carrots, beets, and parsnips are also suitable for sowing from the 3rd to 5th, 9th, and 10th. For radishes, daikon, and turnips, favorable days are the 1st, 3rd-5th, 9th, 10th, 13th-15th, 19th, 22nd, 23rd, 29th, and 30th. Celeriac and root parsley can be sown from the 3rd to the 10th.

Among bulb crops, bulb onions can be sown from the 3rd to 5th, 9th, and 10th, while green onions and chives are suitable for the 1st, 3rd-10th, 13th-15th, 19th, 22nd, 23rd, 29th, and 30th. Garlic should be planted on the 1st, 3rd-10th, 19th, 29th, and 30th, and leeks on the 1st, 3rd-10th, 19th, 29th, and 30th.

For vegetables, tomatoes and ground cherries can be sown from the 4th to 5th, 9th, 10th, 19th, 22nd, and 23rd. Bulbous and tuberous plants can be planted from the 4th to 5th, 9th, 10th, 13th-15th, 19th-21st, and 26th-28th; herbaceous perennials on the 1st, 3rd, 19th, 22nd, 23rd, and 26th-30th; and conifers on the 6th-8th and 26th-28th.
