Deferment from mobilization through the 'Reserv+' application

According to ХВИЛЯ: The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has expanded the list of categories of conscripts who can receive a deferment from mobilization in electronic format through the 'Reserv+' application. Now the deferment is available for those whose father or mother has a disability of group I or II. A conscript can submit a request for a deferment if he is the only adult child of a person with a disability.

The procedure for obtaining a deferment is fully digitized, simplifying the process for users. As of now, 'Reserv+' offers 11 types of online deferments, which allows a greater number of individuals to take advantage of this service. It is important to note that the granted deferment will continue automatically from November 1, 2025.

Categories of individuals who can benefit from deferment

The categories of individuals who can benefit from deferment include:

  • people with disabilities;
  • temporarily unfit for service;
  • parents of a child with a disability under 18 years old;
  • parents of an adult child with a disability of group I or II;
  • persons whose husband or wife has a disability of group I or II;
  • those who care for a father or mother with a disability of group I or II;
  • women and men of servicemen who have a child;
  • parents of three or more children in one marriage;
  • single parents raising a child under 18 years old on their own;
  • students and graduate students;
  • employees of higher education and vocational education institutions.

The decision of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine to expand the categories of conscripts who can receive a deferment from mobilization is a significant step towards considering social aspects during military operations. The digitization of the process provides additional advantages, simplifying access to deferment for a larger number of citizens, which can significantly impact social stability in the country. In times of war, such changes can ease the burden on families that care for individuals with disabilities or have children to support.
