According to ХВИЛЯ: Oleksiy Honcharenko, a member of Ukraine's parliament, has publicly rejected reports that the country might lower its mobilization age. He explained that no such draft law exists in the Verkhovna Rada, and any change to the age requirements would require a vote by the full parliament. His comments came in response to a stream of online articles spreading claims that a reduction of the conscription age was in preparation.

Honcharenko made clear that “no one plans” to lower the draft age, adding in his Telegram channel:

“How much longer can we keep citing people who have nothing to do with this at all?”

The lawmaker also said he is constantly asked about potential changes: “As soon as these statements appear, I receive dozens of messages saying, ‘What, Oleksiy, is everything going to change?’ No, it will not.”
