Under the new regulations, selected candidates will be commissioned as Junior Lieutenants and assigned to positions as digital transformation specialists.
Duties and Selection Process
These mobilized IT specialists will be tasked with implementing digital systems within military units, gathering feedback, and identifying needs for new technological solutions. This move aims to leverage Ukraine's strong tech sector for national defense. The selection of candidates with relevant civilian experience will be a two-stage process:
- The first stage will be conducted within military units following mobilization;
- The second selection stage will take place at the Ministry of Defense.
These changes are designed to enhance the effectiveness of digital technologies within the military sphere.
The presidential decree represents a significant step in integrating modern technological solutions into Ukraine's military structure, which could substantially improve the operational speed and effectiveness of combat units.
Incorporating IT specialists into military service could not only improve digital infrastructure but also create new opportunities for technological development under wartime conditions.
