Moldova strengthens air defense due to Russian shelling
The Ministry of Defense of Moldova has taken measures to enhance the country's air defense due to violations by rockets and drones from Russia. The details of these measures remain confidential, but it is emphasized that this is done to protect the national airspace and citizens.
Violations of Moldova's airspace by Russia are becoming an increasingly serious issue, and therefore the country has sought assistance from external partners. A Polish report on the supply of MANPADS to Moldova is just one example of such cooperation.
"Moldova was to receive 44 Piorun MANPADS, which are intended to combat various types of aerial targets," the MESKO report noted.
The President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, voiced her support for Ukraine on air defense matters following the events in Kyiv. She emphasized that supporting Ukraine not only protects peace in Europe but is also crucial for stability in the region.
The increase in the level of air defense in Moldova due to violations from Russia has become a pressing issue for the country. Moldova has sought assistance from external partners and received support from the President of Ukraine on this matter.
