The final decision on whether to hold in-person or remote classes will be based on assessments by local commissions for technological, environmental safety, and emergency situations.

In Kyiv, communal educational institutions will resume classes starting February 2, with each institution determining its own format based on local conditions. While some regions may still experience above-freezing temperatures on January 31, a severe cold snap is expected to begin that same day. A powerful new anticyclone will move into Ukraine from the north on Saturday, with a potent Arctic system covering the country from February 1, bringing temperatures down to critical lows.
