According to Главком: The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center warns of a significant cold snap, light snow, and dangerous icy conditions across the country on Tuesday, February 10. This Arctic blast will create hazardous conditions for drivers and pedestrians alike. Such severe winter weather is not uncommon for the region during this time of year.

Overnight and in the morning, temperatures in most central regions, including Kyiv and Chernihiv oblasts, will plunge to -15°C to -20°C. In some northern areas, the mercury could drop as low as -22°C to -24°C. Daytime highs will range from -7°C to -12°C. Road Conditions

In the Carpathians and Zakarpattia, light wet snow and rain are possible during the day, with ice forming in places. Kyiv and its surrounding oblast will see variable cloudiness with no precipitation, but patchy fog is likely overnight and in the morning. Icy patches are expected to form on roads in the Kyiv region. Winds across Ukraine will be predominantly southerly at 7-12 m/s, with gusts reaching 15-20 m/s in western areas.

The sharp temperature drop and risk of black ice pose significant safety risks on the roads, requiring extra caution from drivers. The forecast of light precipitation may further complicate travel, especially in mountainous regions. Citizens are advised to monitor forecast updates and exercise great care while moving about.
