Possible Trump-Putin Deal: What We Know About Peace Negotiations

According to Студия Руслана Бизяева: Against the backdrop of the prolonged war in Ukraine, international negotiations regarding a potential settlement have intensified. According to sources, a possible deal between Donald Trump's administration and Vladimir Putin is being discussed. A key element may be the use of frozen Russian assets. According to process participants, the Russian president is willing to allocate 200 billion dollars from these funds for the reconstruction of Ukraine. These funds could be investments through American companies rather than a loan.

"I decided with Putin, he gives you 200 yards as a loan" - one of the negotiators.

Simultaneously, possible compromises are being discussed. On the negotiating table, according to sources, there is a proposal for financial assistance to Ukraine amounting to 800 billion dollars from the West. As a 'carrot', the following are also considered:

  • duty-free trade with the USA;
  • placement of Western manufacturing in Ukraine.

However, there are also 'sticks': possible demands regarding the territories of Donbas and a special governance structure for the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. It is predicted that a high-level meeting involving Donald Trump, Volodymyr Zelensky, and Vladimir Putin to sign key documents may occur at the turn of the first and second quarters. These processes are taking place against the backdrop of criticism from Europe, which is accused of sluggishness in providing promised weapons and financial assistance to Ukraine.
