Ukraine showed Germany a unique air defense system: how the drone protection works

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine shared its experience of air defense integration with Germany

The meeting of the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Serhiy Naumenko, with the political director of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dominik Mütter, took a positive turn. The Ukrainian side showcased its experience in countering drones and presented approaches to deploying elements of air security that work in conjunction with the Ministry of Defense.

Particular attention was drawn to the integrated ecosystem from the Ministry of Defense, which includes anti-sabotage programs, the implementation of technical solutions, and their integration into a single national air defense system. Serhiy Naumenko emphasized the importance of cooperation with Germany in this context.

“We showed our partners how the Ministry of Internal Affairs has created an integrated ecosystem that works in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense. This concerns anti-sabotage programs, the implementation of technical solutions, and their inclusion into a single air defense system of the state,” noted Serhiy Naumenko.

There were also discussions on the practice of using electronic warfare and electronic troops, anti-aircraft drones, mobile fire groups, as well as the specifics of the work of units from the National Guard, State Border Service, National Police, and the State Emergency Service. The German delegation was also briefed on the dynamics of Russian attacks and the role of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in protecting critical infrastructure.

As a result of the meeting, it turned out that the exchange of experience and cooperation with partners from Germany is key to effectively strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities and ensuring security in the region.
