Rapid Response to Aftermath of Russian Shelling

According to МВС: Since the start of this week, Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs has carried out more than 800 emergency missions addressing the destruction caused by Russian bombardments. According to Interior Minister Ivan Vygivskyi, these attacks inflicted heavy damage on hundreds of residential buildings, schools, markets, and public transport stops across Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk region, and Sumy.

During the night, nine apartment buildings were targeted, resulting in casualties and fatalities. Russian forces continue to launch intense strikes against critical energy infrastructure. Despite these challenges, rescue teams and police managed to save 148 civilians this week. Additionally, nearly 900 individuals received psychological support from specialists within the Ministry’s system.

Ministry Efforts and Citizen Support Services

Mobile service centers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Migration Service are actively operating in affected areas, providing daily consultations to assist residents with replacing lost documents and handling damaged vehicles.

“I extend my gratitude to every rescuer, police officer, guard, and staff member of the Ministry’s service centers and the State Migration Service for their lifesaving efforts, documenting Russian war crimes, and aiding the people,” stated Ivan Vygivskyi.

These developments highlight ongoing intense combat operations in Ukraine, which continue to cause severe damage to infrastructure and have grave consequences for civilians. The Ministry’s operations demonstrate the government’s commitment to maintaining public safety and restoring normalcy in the hardest-hit regions amid this crisis. Providing psychological care is a crucial component, reflecting the enduring trauma experienced by those affected by the conflict and emphasizing the broader mental health impact on the population.

The ongoing conflict has led to a dramatic increase in hostilities, with reports indicating that Russian forces have conducted over 2,200 drone strikes in just one week, resulting in significant civilian casualties and extensive destruction. This escalation in attacks underscores the urgency of the humanitarian response efforts detailed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
