In Bali, the remains of Ihor Komarov were identified

On the Indonesian island of Bali, the police confirmed that the body parts found on the coast belong to the missing Ukrainian Ihor Komarov. The identification was carried out after a DNA examination. This is reported by RBK-Ukraine.

The remains were discovered on Ketevel beach in the east of the island at the end of February. Local residents found the head and other body parts, after which the information was passed on to law enforcement.

Disappearance of Ihor Komarov: what the DNA examination revealed

According to the spokesperson of the Bali police, Ariasandi, the research was conducted at the National Forensic Medical Center in Jakarta. Laboratory analyses confirmed that the found remains matched the genetic samples of the Ukrainian's family.

During the examination of the body, law enforcement also noted a distinctive tattoo in the form of a clock with Roman numerals on the arm. It matched the tattoo of Ihor Komarov.

Investigators established that the following were found at the site of discovery:

• head;

• torso;

• arms;

• legs.

In addition, the police conducted additional expertise of possible places of detention of the kidnapped. Blood traces at the villa and in the Toyota Avanza car in the Tabanan region, according to investigators, matched the DNA of Komarov's mother.

Abduction of the Ukrainian in Bali: what is known about the case

According to the police, Ihor Komarov was kidnapped on February 15 in the Jimbaran area. Law enforcement has already detained one of the suspects who helped rent the car. He stated that he was unaware of the preparation of the crime.

Another six foreigners are wanted internationally through Interpol:

• four have already left the territory of Bali;

• two may be in Indonesia.

Earlier, videos appeared online showing a man resembling Komarov claiming to have sustained serious injuries and asking to deliver 10 million dollars to the abductors.

Ihor Komarov was 28 years old. He was born and lived in Dnipro. The Indonesian police continue the investigation to establish all those involved in the kidnapping and murder. Ihor Komarov was the boyfriend of blogger Eva Mishalova.
