Heavy Fighting Continues Near Pokrovsk as Ukrainian Forces Target Russian Artillery
Fighting Intensifies in the Pokrovsk and Hryshyne Area
According to Главком: Combat operations are ongoing in the vicinity of the village of Hryshyne and the Pokrovsk agglomeration in Donetsk Oblast. Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) are engaged in active combat, successfully targeting and destroying Russian artillery systems. Meanwhile, Russian troops are bolstering their own artillery capabilities and attempting to push into Hryshyne's central district. This area remains a focal point of Russia's offensive in eastern Ukraine.
Intense infantry clashes are reported in the southeastern part of Hryshyne. Ukraine's defense forces are receiving support from both artillery and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) units. According to a report by
"Hlavkom"
, citing a statement from the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces, Russian military activity has increased in the directions of Hryshyne and Rodynske.
Current Combat Developments
As of today, the enemy is attempting to breach the central part of Hryshyne, attacking from northern and southern directions. Russian forces are deploying additional assault groups, including those using motorized equipment. Fierce fighting continues within Hryshyne itself, while Ukrainian units maintain their defensive positions north of Pokrovsk.
Over the past day, Ukrainian units struck five enemy artillery pieces in the Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad areas. Concurrently, Russian forces are increasing the number of long-range artillery systems within the operational zone of the 7th Rapid Response Corps. The enemy is concealing its artillery both within forest belts and among private residential buildings.
On the night of April 7, Ukraine's Defense Forces struck the 'Ust-Luga Oil' terminal in Russia's Leningrad Oblast. Preliminary reports confirm that three reservoirs belonging to the 'Transneft-Baltika' enterprise were hit. These strikes are part of Ukraine's broader campaign to target Russian energy infrastructure supporting the war effort.
The situation around Hryshyne and the Pokrovsk agglomeration indicates a significant escalation, with both sides intensifying efforts to achieve strategic objectives. The UAF continues to actively employ drones and artillery to strike enemy positions, while Russian troops attempt to consolidate their foothold and launch counterattacks. The outcome of these battles could substantially influence the frontline's trajectory in this critical sector.
As the situation escalates in the Pokrovsk region, it's important to note that similar intense confrontations are occurring elsewhere, such as in the Sumy region. Recently, the Ukrainian 80th Brigade successfully repelled a Russian offensive, resulting in significant enemy casualties.
