Two Figures from Ukraine’s Film and Media Industry Killed at the Front: What We Know

According to Главком: Viktoriia Bobrova, a producer, casting director, and communications officer with the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade 'Edelveis', has been killed on the front lines. She joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine last year and left a lasting mark on the country’s film industry, working as a casting director on series such as 'One Family. The Wedding', 'Occupied', 'Friends', and 'Cold'.

In addition to Bobrova, two other media professionals died near Avdiivka:

• Director Ihor Malakhov, who had been listed as missing for a long time before his body was identified through DNA testing;
• Yevhenii Solovei, a cameraman for the TSN news program who had been documenting the war since 2014. In 2022, he volunteered for military service and served as a drone pilot.
