Death of Dmytro Ferbei

According to Главком: Ukrainian soldier Dmytro Mykolayovych Ferbei was killed on December 19, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission in the village of Shevchenkove, Kharkiv region. He died from shrapnel wounds sustained during a Grad rocket attack. Dmytro leaves behind his wife Kristina and two daughters: 9-year-old Yeva and 8-year-old Diana.

Life and Military Service

Born on April 20, 1992, in Cherepkivtsi, Dmytro Ferbei trained as a tractor driver at a vocational lyceum in Hlyboka and later worked on a farm. Due to health issues, he had not served in the military before, but on February 28, 2022, he voluntarily enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 22nd Bukovynian Rifle Battalion and was attached to the 116th Mechanized Brigade, where he worked as a driver-medic at a medical aid station.

Dmytro’s funeral was held in Cherepkivtsi. Friends and family honored the defender, and a memorial plaque was unveiled on the facade of the school where he studied. His wife Kristina recalls the tragic moment:

“One day, Sergeant Oleksandra called. Her voice was trembling and faltering. They didn’t know how to tell his mother... He was hit by Grad rockets. Shrapnel tore into his head. The injuries were fatal.” - Kristina Ferbei
