New PANDA Center in Kyiv Region Offers Comprehensive Support for Children Affected by War

PANDA Center: A Safe Haven for Vulnerable Children

According to Рубрика — Суспільство: A newly launched PANDA Center in the Kyiv region provides holistic support to children impacted by war, occupation, violence, and other difficult life situations. Designed to accommodate 30 beds, the center is equipped to assist up to 500 children annually. This project is a collaboration between the charitable organizations Save Ukraine and the Children’s Rescue Service, in partnership with the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.

Services and Programs at the PANDA Center

The PANDA Center features a child protection unit modeled after the Barnahus approach, including dedicated spaces for interviewing children and conducting forensic medical examinations. Children can participate in court hearings remotely when authorized by the judiciary. The center offers a wide range of assistance, including psychological counseling, social and legal support, medical care, as well as temporary foster care that ensures children live in a family-like environment during their recovery.

Training sessions for child welfare services, law enforcement, prosecutors, judges, and educators from the region are also organized at the center. Experts provide both crisis intervention and long-term psychological support for children and their families. The PANDA Center collaborates with international specialists from the United States, Canada, and European countries, while exchanging knowledge with other Ukrainian centers to enhance its services.
