Border guards from Lviv region face fines for illegal border crossing

According to glavcom.ua: The Yavoriv District Court of Lviv region punished two border guards for violating the rules of service - due to the negligence of the border patrol, two men illegally crossed the border with Poland. The court imposed a fine of 17,000 UAH on each inspector. As reported by 'Gromadske', this was reported by Zaxid.net.

According to the judgments, inspectors Pavlo Z. and Serhii K. were part of the border patrol on July 11. Due to 'poor organization of service', that day the two men managed to illegally cross the border with Poland outside of a checkpoint.

An official investigation was conducted into the illegal border crossing, which revealed that the inspectors had committed violations of the service rules (Part 2 of Article 172-18 of the Administrative Code). Both inspectors provided written explanations in which they admitted their guilt.

Judge Ihor Matviyiv examined the administrative protocols concerning both inspectors, finding them guilty of violating the rules of service. Pavlo Z. and Serhii K. are to pay fines of 17,000 UAH each. The rulings can still be appealed.

Earlier, law enforcement in Zakarpattia uncovered a criminal authority who directed the process of illegally smuggling men across the border from prison. His accomplice was detained with a draft dodger in the Berehiv district.

It is worth noting that, according to police, the cost of illegal exit from Ukraine outside official checkpoints currently ranges from $10,000 to $20,000 per person.

Additionally, in Lviv, a father will be tried for forcing his own daughter with a disability to enter into a fictitious marriage with a conscript.

The incident that occurred in the Lviv region reflects serious violations by border guards of laws during service. The court imposed fines on the guilty parties who illegally crossed the border, which is an important element of ensuring security at the state border.
