According to НБУ: Almost 97 billion hryvnias were received to the special account of the National Bank of Ukraine in 2025, indicating significant support for the country's defense forces. In December 2025, about 20 billion hryvnias were transferred to this account. This account was opened on February 24, 2022, in response to the needs arising from the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the war, nearly 146.8 billion hryvnias have been received into the NBU special account. It is important to note that in 2025, over 88 billion hryvnias were transferred from this account for defense needs, while for the results of 2024, this amount was over 5.9 billion hryvnias. As of January 1, 2026, the remaining funds in the special account amount to over 24.7 billion hryvnias, and in December 2025, nearly 26 billion hryvnias were transferred to support the military.
