In the war, the 'voice' of Radio Karpaty was lost. Let's remember Sergey Silkin

According to glavcom.ua: Every day at 9 AM, Ukrainians commemorate all those who lost their lives in the Russo-Ukrainian war. Today, we remember Sergey Silkin.

In a battle during a tank shelling near the village of Berestove in the Donetsk region, Senior Soldier Sergey Silkin lost his life at the age of only 28, reports 'Glavkom'. Silkin gave his life to protect Ukraine from Russian occupiers.

The words of the deceased's mother, Galina Silkina: 'He said: 'I will go so that you will be better off, so that you will be at peace. I will go to defend.'

Sergey was born in Ivano-Frankivsk and after serving in the army dreamed of creating his own radio station and continuing his creative work. He was also awarded many honors, including the Order of 'For Courage' and posthumous recognition from the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk for 'Honor and Valor'.

The words of the producer of 'Suspilne' Ivano-Frankivsk, Galina Derzhypolskaya: 'Sergey was a very creative and extraordinary person. It was precisely in creative work where he had to fantasize, invent something, and improvise that he excelled the most.'

Sergey Silkin died on October 17, 2022, in the Bakhmut direction, and he was buried in the Alley of Glory in Chukalivka. He was survived by his mother, father, and sister, who will always remember his courage and self-sacrifice.

The editor-in-chief of 'Glavkom' joins in a moment of silence, honoring the memory of heroes who gave their lives for Ukraine's independence in the struggle against Russian invaders.

The event that took place is a memorable testament to the heroism of Ukrainian defenders and their selflessness in the fight against occupiers. Together with them, we honor the fallen and remember their majestic sacrifice on the path to Ukraine's independence.
