Oleksandr Kramarenko died for Ukraine: the story of a police hero
According to glavcom.ua: Ukrainians honor the memory of those who died due to the Russian-Ukrainian war every day at 9 a.m. Today we honor the memory of police officer Oleksandr Kramarenko.
The tragedy occurred on November 4, 2025, when the 42-year-old police captain was killed during shelling in the Kostiantynivka direction.
Oleksandr served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine for almost 8 years and participated in peacekeeping missions in Iraq. In 2009, he joined the police and worked there for over 12 years as a special forces officer.
On the Frontline
Since February 2024, Oleksandr served on the frontline as a platoon commander in the 'Tsunami' assault regiment of the National Police's 'Rage' assault brigade. He participated in battles for Vovchansk and Toretsk, where he sustained serious injuries in September 2024, but after recovering, he returned to service.
Awards and Memories
For his service, Oleksandr was awarded various state and military honors, including 'For the Defense of Ukraine' and 'For Distinction in Service.' He is survived by his wife, a 19-year-old daughter, and his parents.
Oleksandr often said: 'I cannot leave my fighters, I am still a little afraid,' recalls his comrade Oleksiy Chycha.
Another comrade recalls that Kramarenko was always proud of his daughter, who studied at a military university.
