A sapper from Chortkiv died in the war. Let us remember Alexander Dovbenko

According to glavcom.ua: Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russo-Ukrainian war. Among those we remember today is Alexander Dovbenko, a hero from Chortkiv, who died while performing a combat mission in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Alexander Dovbenko was born on April 26, 1998, in the village of Bily Potok of the Bilobozhnitska rural community in the Chortkiv district of the Ternopil region. He was conscripted for military service in 2023 and died on July 4, 2023, while fulfilling his duties in the combat zone near Pryiutne in the Zaporizhzhia region.

“Now he is forever 25 years old. Dovbenko Alexander was drafted into military service on April 1 of this year. He served as a sapper in the engineering-sapper unit in Zaporizhzhia,” reported the Chortkiv City Council.

The acquaintance of Elena and Alexander Dovbenko

Elena and Alexander met when she did not plan to date someone new after a painful separation from her previous boyfriend. While dating Sasha, she quickly became interested in his attention and care. Despite her mixed feelings, Elena and Alexander quickly became a family and spouses, postponing their wedding for better times.

After the tragic death of Alexander in a shelling in July 2023, Elena was left alone to raise their daughter Sashunya. She remains a widow at 21, striving to keep her husband’s memory alive for their child.
