Drunk Trucker in Vinnytsia Killed Two Workers: Details of the Tragedy

In the Mohyliv-Podilskyi district of Vinnytsia region, a tragedy occurred on the territory of a farm: a drunk driver of a tractor ran over two workers. This was reported by

According to preliminary investigation information, the incident happened on September 11 during the day in the village of Druzhba. While harvesting silage, a 58-year-old driver of a FENDT tractor in a state of alcoholic intoxication hit two colleagues – local residents aged 58 and 65. The men died at the scene from their injuries.

Investigation and Traffic Accidents

The tractor driver was detained. The police opened a criminal proceeding under Part 2 of Article 272 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violating safety rules during work with increased danger that led to the death of people). The detained person faces up to eight years in prison.

An investigation is currently underway. The issue of notifying the suspect and choosing a preventive measure is being resolved.

Earlier, there were four traffic accidents with victims in the Vinnytsia region. The police are investigating the circumstances of each accident, among the injured are a child and a teenager. This was reported by «Glavkom» with reference to the police of Vinnytsia region.
