Storm warning in western Ukraine

According to ДСНС: A storm warning has been declared in western Ukraine due to the expected squally wind. In the evening of January 1 and during the day of January 2, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, and Chernivtsi regions will experience strong wind gusts. It is noted that wind speed may reach 15–20 m/s, and at night and in the morning in some places - up to 25 m/s.

According to meteorologists, a Level I danger (yellow) has been declared, indicating the possibility of dangerous weather phenomena. Residents of the region are urged to be careful and follow safety rules.

Consequences of strong winds

The storm warning indicates the need to prepare for potential consequences of strong winds, which may include:

  • damage to buildings
  • power supply interruptions
  • threats to road safety
