The best city for summer vacation is located in Poland — The Independent
Polish Sopot has made it onto the list of the best European destinations for summer vacation without exhausting heat. The British newspaper The Independent noted the resort for its comfortable climate, wide beaches, and developed tourist infrastructure. Amidst the abnormal heat in Southern European countries, interest in the Baltic coast continues to grow. This is reported by InPoland citing The Independent.
Sopot ranks among the best resorts in Europe
The British publication included the Polish city in its list of locations that could serve as an alternative to popular resorts in Greece, Spain, and Italy.
Journalists noted the combination of seaside recreation, comfortable temperatures, and developed tourist infrastructure.
Among the advantages of Sopot, the publication highlighted the wide sandy beaches, seaside atmosphere, a large number of restaurants and hotels, as well as the longest wooden pier in Europe.
Tourists are seeking an alternative to the scorching south
The ranking authors note that in recent years, more and more tourists are paying attention to regions with a milder climate.
The reason has been regular heatwaves and massive forest fires that are increasingly being recorded in Greece, Spain, and Italy.
Against this backdrop, the Baltic Sea is gradually becoming more attractive for travelers from the UK and other Western European countries who seek a more comfortable summer vacation.
Affordable prices have become an additional advantage
British journalists also noted the relatively affordable cost of vacationing in Sopot compared to many Southern European resorts.
Among the city's advantages, convenient transport connections to Gdańsk via a fast suburban railway were also mentioned.
In The Independent's ranking, the Polish resort was placed alongside such popular tourist destinations as Oslo, Tartu, Lake Bled in Slovenia, Portuguese Madeira, and the Scottish island of Arran.
All these locations, in the opinion of the ranking authors, combine a moderate climate, natural attractiveness, and quality tourist infrastructure, making them increasingly popular among European tourists.
It is worth noting that Ukrainians in Poland can register for DP Document through Diia starting June 1.
