According to Главком: Police are investigating an attack on the home of military chaplain Nazarii Gahaliuk in the village of Zadubrivka, Chernivtsi district. The incident, which damaged the entrance doors to the property, occurred while Gahaliuk was deployed on the front line. The National Police are currently conducting investigative actions to determine the circumstances of the event.

Military Chaplains and Their Requirements

Nazarii Gahaliuk is a military chaplain from Chernivtsi who has regularly traveled to the front to support troops since 2018. In response to the needs of military units, about a dozen vacancies for military chaplains have been posted on the Work.ua job site. Salaries for these positions range from 15,000 to over 100,000 Ukrainian hryvnias per month.

Requirements for chaplain candidates include:

  • More than one year of experience as a clergyman,
  • A higher theological education,
  • No ties to religious organizations affiliated with the Russian Orthodox Church.
