According to Главком: Ukrainian singer Natalia Mogilevska and her family returned to Ukraine in January 2026 after a winter holiday in Tenerife, only to confront the harsh realities of the country's ongoing energy crisis. She had traveled with her husband, Valentin, and their two daughters.

Upon arriving at their home near Kyiv, the singer discovered it had no electricity, heating, or running water. Room temperatures were barely above 10 degrees Celsius (50 degrees Fahrenheit). The power had been out for four consecutive days, severely compounding the situation. Mogilevska described finding their house in a critical state:

“I was sure our home could be a place of support for my relatives, because at least I have a fireplace. But we arrived to find the house below freezing, the pipes frozen, no water, no power for four days, and no communication either.”

The singer added that her husband was faced with a monumental set of tasks:

• how to heat the house,
• how to thaw the pipes,
• and what would happen when they did.

They managed to slightly warm other rooms during the day using solar panels. Despite these immense difficulties, Mogilevska's children are set to return to school and kindergarten on Monday. This crisis reflects the severe strain on Ukraine's civilian infrastructure following years of conflict.
