He also featured in three matches at the FIFA World Cup. At his new club, Aké is expected to cover central defense, left-back, and defensive midfield positions.

Beyond Aké's transfer, other notable football news includes the retirement of goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel, who stepped away due to health issues. Additionally, Jonjo Shelvey ended his playing career, with his last club being Arabian Falcons from the UAE, and transitioned into a coaching role. Shelvey has successfully begun this new chapter as a head coach.

Aké's move to Fenerbahçe highlights clubs' activity in the transfer market, especially regarding players with extensive European league experience seeking new opportunities. This step may reflect Aké's desire for more playing time and fresh challenges, given his successful stint at Manchester City.

The retirements of players like Kasper Schmeichel and Jonjo Shelvey also mark a period of change in world football, where veterans make way for younger talents or move into coaching, influencing future team development and strategies.

As clubs continue to reshape their squads, the recent signing of Nathan Aké by Fenerbahçe comes amidst significant transfer activity in European football. In a related development, Manchester City has made headlines by securing Elliott Anderson for a record fee, further highlighting the competitive nature of the current transfer window.
