NBU canceled limits on transfers: how much can now be transferred to the card
The Ukrainian banking sector has undergone significant changes in the area of transfers to bank cards. Starting from 2025, the rules have become much more flexible, leading to active discussions among clients.
Cancellation of NBU regulatory restrictions
Limits on card transfers were abolished from April 1, 2025, after a temporary period of restrictions. However, from June of the same year, banks set a new limit of 100 thousand hryvnias per month.

Risk assessment system for clients
After the limits were lifted, the established system of limits based on risk levels was also changed. Now clients with medium and low risk can transfer up to 100 thousand hryvnias per month.
Features of transfers between cards
Within the same bank, transfers are not limited, but general restrictions remain for interbank transactions.
Memorandum on transparency
The new rules are the result of an agreement among leading banks in December 2024, which enforce regulations independently of the National Bank.
Expert recommendations on managing transfers
Experts advise Ukrainians to avoid large transactions, confirm the source of funds, and monitor changes in legislation.
