Renewed Push in Ukraine: Central Bank and UAnimals Restart Coin-and-Banknote Fundraiser for Animals
#PowerCoins Is Back: A New Drive to Help Ukrainian Animals
According to НБУ: In Ukraine, the National Bank of Ukraine and the charity UAnimals are again joining forces for the #PowerCoins donation drive. It starts on September 7 and runs through November 30, 2026. The idea is simple: people can bring in circulating coins and banknotes to branches of partner banks Oschadbank and PUMB, and the donated money will be transferred to UAnimals at no charge. The funds are meant to support evacuated animals from shelters and communities near the front line.
The effort returns after last year's campaign brought in over UAH 2 million for animals affected by the war. Participation is open to individuals and to groups alike-companies, organizations, educational institutions, and local communities can all join. To take part, collect coins and banknotes, drop them off at any branch of Oschadbank or PUMB, and the bank will pass the donation to UAnimals without taking a fee.
Where to Get More Information and Why the Campaign Matters
More information about the initiative is available on the National Bank of Ukraine's website. In a country at war, #PowerCoins gives everyone an accessible way to contribute to the welfare of animals in need of help and protection.
The #PowerCoins campaign is a significant step toward supporting animals that have suffered because of hostilities in Ukraine. After the strong showing of the previous year, organizers hope for broad participation from the public and the business community. That would not only raise additional funds but also increase awareness of the hardships animals face during wartime. This initiative highlights society's solidarity in difficult times, and caring for animals can be seen as a key part of the country's overall humanitarian effort.
