Neutral tennis player Schneider awaits an order from Putin: award details
According to glavcom.ua: Neutral Russian tennis player Diana Schneider expressed hope for receiving the 'For Merit to the Fatherland' order from Putin. It is worth noting that in September, the president signed a decree awarding the athlete the first degree order for her significant contribution to the development of physical culture and sports. Diana Schneider does not hide her feelings and hopes to receive the award in person.
At the same time, the participation of neutral Russian athletes in Putin's propaganda events violates the recommendations of the IOC. Such participation in events with a political tint already worries the community and sparks discussion.
Despite this, the 2026 Olympics is expected to take place from February 6 to 22 in Italy, where athletes from around the world will again showcase their best achievements.
