Newsmax Ukraine to Launch Kyiv-Based Channel in 2026, Broadcasting in Three Languages

Newsmax Ukraine Channel Unveiled

According to Главком: A private presentation for the Newsmax Ukraine television channel was held in Kyiv on February 27. The channel, scheduled to launch in spring 2026, will be based in Kyiv and produce content in Ukrainian, English, and Russian. Lyudmyla Nemira has been appointed General Producer and will be responsible for the channel's development strategy and editorial policy. The Ukrainian editorial team will consist of 40 staff members.

The presentation was attended by key figures from Ukrainian politics and business, including:

• Head of the President's Office, Kyrylo Budanov,
• Leader of the Batkivshchyna party, Yulia Tymoshenko,
• Head of the Servant of the People party, Oleksandr Korniyenko,
• Co-chair of the European Solidarity faction, Iryna Gerashchenko,
• President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, Andy Hunder,
• U.S. Chargé d'Affaires to Ukraine, Julie S. Davis.

Content and Broadcast Strategy

Newsmax Ukraine will produce original local and regional content for audiences in Ukraine, Eastern Europe, and the wider region. Simultaneously, it will also create content for the American Newsmax channel and utilize its materials. This launch represents a significant expansion of U.S. conservative media into the European market. In his remarks, Kyrylo Budanov stated that he perceives the establishment of a Ukrainian editorial office for an American channel as a signal of U.S. understanding of Ukraine's role in shaping the future, calling it

"a strong signal."

Yulia Tymoshenko added that Newsmax Ukraine would strengthen democracy and freedom of speech in Ukraine.

The channel will be broadcast on YouTube, via a dedicated app, and in digital format. Organizers stated they will implement technology previously unused in Ukraine's media landscape.

The launch of Newsmax Ukraine underscores the growing importance of media in shaping public opinion and the information space in Ukraine, particularly within the current geopolitical context. Interaction with American content could strengthen international ties and information exchange, potentially influencing the development of Ukraine's media environment.
