Massive Bombardment of Kyiv

According to Главком: During the night of June 15, Kyiv endured a heavy assault involving missiles and attack drones. The building of the High Anti-Corruption Court, located at 41 Beresteiskyi Avenue, was damaged in the attack. Shockwaves and falling debris shattered windows inside the court premises, where staff are currently assessing the full extent of the damage. Despite the shelling, the institution continues to operate, and all scheduled court hearings will proceed as planned. Cleanup and damage mitigation efforts are ongoing at the site.

The bombardment of Kyiv struck multiple targets, including the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, where a direct hit sparked a large-scale fire. The roof of the Dormition Cathedral was damaged, but relics and liturgical items from the monastery were successfully evacuated. Hits were also recorded on residential buildings in the Pechersk district, where a five-story building was affected, and in the Obolon district, where destruction occurred between the third and fourth floors of an apartment block. In the Solomianskyi district, a nine-story residential building sustained damage.

Aftermath of the Attack

Additionally, a fire broke out at the National Film Studio of Ukraine named after Oleksandr Dovzhenko as a result of the assault. The strike destroyed the country's largest and oldest costume collection, which housed approximately one hundred thousand costumes and three million clothing items. Other buildings and structures on the film studio grounds were also damaged. Kyiv bore the brunt of the attack, with numerous damages reported across the city.

This attack on Kyiv highlights the ongoing tense situation in the region, threatening not only infrastructure but also the safety of civilians. Key concerns include both the physical destruction and the psychological toll on city residents enduring repeated assaults.
